Health Insurance

The Health Insurance Marketplace Is Still Live

Americans can continue to sign up for health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act at https://www.healthcare.gov. It’s the law, but what does this mean for Americans? Several of my friends who are not retired can now get medical insurance.  Retirees have a place to compare insurance plans before they buy.

Americans now qualify to get medical coverage that may or may not be affordable.  But they may have a choice of plans that fit their needs and budget.  But all the questions have not been answered yet.  I have some information from the Social Security Digest Bulletin and a link to get information concerning your particular circumstances.

HealthcareLink What does this mean for people also receiving Medicare?  If you’re retired and need health insurance, you can use the health insurance marketplace at https://www.healthcare.gov/retirees.  So if you’re a Medicare beneficiary, you do not have to replace your Medicare coverage with Marketplace coverage.  You may have to find “medigap” supplementary insurance to help cover other health insurance costs such as part D and home prescription delivery.

If you don’t have Medicare and you need health insurance or know someone who does, learn more at the Health Insurance Marketplace at www.healthcare.gov.
