How much money do I need to retire on?
A good question that most of us will have to answer. But How much is enough?
Most people will be faced with four possibilities when they retire:
1. Having enough money to retire comfortably and take care of all living expenses. Or
2. Not having enough money to retire on and do anything in our retirement. Or
3. Running out of money due to some catastrophic event and we have to go back to work. Or
4. Just living too long and running out of money. In this case, social security will take care of us.
The last three are not acceptable and will cause many of us to continue to look for ways to make money in retirement to supplement our retirement income. Unfortunately, a lot of people will not know how to create more income.
For many of us, making a business that generates income is a worthwhile pursuit.
Whatever the reason we continue to look for more money in retirement, it is necessary to research all the options and find something that works, that is sustainable and that we can enjoy doing.
How much money to start a business?
This might be the second question that we have to ask. One great resource, Entrepreneur.com, has information on business ideas that can be started for under $500 and how-to guides on a whole lot more. Most of these are physical business models that do not require much labor on your part.
But, I am looking for something that will generate consistent income without much labor after start-up. That is why I turned to the internet for ideas and business models.
And Consider this!! Nothing happens overnight and anything worthwhile takes time. If you decide to use the internet to make money, DO NOT believe the overnight get rich stories.
